Minnesota Woman Files Mirena Lawsuit

A Minnesota woman filed suit in Federal Court in Minnesota against Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, the makers of the Mirena IUD. The suit alleges that the Mirena IUD device is defective and caused her serious injuries, resulting in the surgical removal of the device.

The complaint was filed by Philadelphia attorneys Dianne Nast, Daniel Gallucci, and Joanne Matusko of the national Law firm of NastLaw, LLC, with Daniel Gustafson, a Minneapolis attorney of Gustafon Gluek PLLC.

The Mirena lawsuit alleges that Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals and other defendants failed to disclose to the patient and her physicians the true risks associated with the Mirena device.

The complaint also alleges that the defendants failed to disclose the true risks of Mirena perforation of the uterine wall, embedding of the device in the uterine wall, Mirena migration and the risk of ectopic pregnancies.
