In re Concrete and Cement Additives Antitrust Litigation (S.D.N.Y.)

This antitrust litigation alleges that the three leading groups of manufacturers and sellers of concrete and cement admixtures (which are added to concrete and cement to enhance its features) unlawfully agreed to fix prices for their admixtures. NastLaw represents a proposed class of direct purchasers. On April 12, 2024, the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation ordered transfer of all related cases to the Southern District of New York for coordinated or consolidated pretrial proceedings before the Honorable Lewis J. Liman.

This antitrust litigation alleges that Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and its Individual Blue Plans conspired to allocate markets and increase health insurance costs. The parties reached a $2.67 billion settlement, which the district court approved, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed. A request for review by the United States Supreme Court, filed on March 28, 2024, remains pending.
